For centuries it was forbidden to travelers, Tibet's ancient civilizations and culture flourished behind a veil of mystery and secrecy, capturing our imagination throughout history. But no longer is this destination for only the most daring explorers with a lot of time on their hands.

Despite years of religious, social and political upheaval, Tibet's grandeur, magic and mystery still remain undiminished—truly an adventurer's paradise. Tibet's breathtaking Himalayan range rising from the Tibetan Plateau; holy Mount Kailash; the ruins of "lost cities" Tholing and Tsaprang; and Lake Manasarovar, one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world, are but a few places to which Adventure Karnali can escort you, either by road or by air.

As travel season for this region is limited (April-November), reservations are highly recommended to assure air transport availability.

Holy Mt. Kailash-Lake Manasarovar and  Tibetan Plateau

Few foreigners travel to this remote western corner of Tibet. For most who do, they have only one destination in mind – Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar. From time immemorial this area has been sacred to Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and the followers of Bon, Tibet's indigenous religion. Even today, pilgrims from all over the Himalayan region travel to Kailash to perform puja and the arduous parikrama or kora (circumambulation of the mountain).

We offer conducted tours to these exciting areas by road from Kathmandu, and is one of only a few operators offering treks from (or to) Nepal's remote Humla district and Yarkanda the border of Pakistan.
